Figured I'd share this here since some of the collectors in the group may find it interesting.

RT66 Auctions is currently selling a large chainsaw collection from the estate of "Old Mac Guy" Ken Garrison. The catalog has over 600 lots and includes a wide range of saws from McCulloch, Homelite, Pioneer, Mall, Disston, Remington, Partner, Poulan, Stihl, Husqvarna, and others. There are also manuals, parts, literature, and memorabilia throughout the sale.

I've spent some time looking through the catalog and there are quite a few older and unusual pieces that don't show up every day. Even if you're not buying, it's a pretty interesting collection to browse through.

Auction closes June 6th at 9 AM Mountain Time.

Worth checking out if you like old saws:

I wonder if this is @OldMacGuy (Ken's) collection?

I'm trying to reduce my uptake of new projects at present so I can try to address customer saws, parts orders, the new museum display, and relocating the parts inventory so I have some better idea of what I have and where to find it; I am expecting only 8-10 additional saws this month...

This is a great opportunity for someone close to the auction, I got a shipping quote to ship a 40 lb saw without a bar to MN and it was $90 including shipping materials. Cost prohibitive for me as I would want to buy several lots.

Wow…so, this is like emptying out one of BillG’s barns but being able to kinda see what there is 🤣
Yes, I went through all 9 pages, lol

Yes it is Ken Garrison's collection. Ken went by OldMacGuy on sites. He was a unique guy and I enjoyed talking with him over the years. It was sad to see him pass away. He passed away almost 2 years ago (June 24, 2024) The auction has been a long time in planning and orginizing. I have communicated with his daughter since shortly after his passing.

Ken had a collection of some very strange saws. I used to love when he would post about a saw that he believed he may the only one of. I would say...."let me go to barn...... I would then post a pic of that model I had.

I want to be very clear he has/had some extremely interesting saws that I do not have and I would love to have but it is not looking good for me.

I was able to talk to Ken once on the phone also - he was just as unique as his collection for sure - a very intelligent man.

He was a tough bugger to get on the phone .......like many others but it was always enjoyable.

Years ago when I was having issues with a irresponsible bee keeper he gave me great guidance and the issue was solved without a bee being harmed...... well maybe jusy a few that stung my son.
