Old saw rpm,s limit

I have a old 1984 poulan 4000 and would like to raise rpm,s from 8500 to 10k. Porting must be changed I know but what is holding these down as compared to current saws? Bearings can be updated as ports will be but weight of crank, rods and pistons may be biggest detriment to gaining 2k rpm. I'm asking the experts! Thanks

Do a muffler mod and retune, see if you gain any more rpm.
But yes, weight in the crank and piston wont help with longevity
at higher rpm.

Did a before and after mm today. The saw picked up 1k on pissrevs to 11,400 and about 500 in the cut. That's not bad for the little I did. There is definitely more there but Pulaan made it hard to get too. One thing I'm wondering is if this saw has already had ex port polished. It is maxed to casting so there isn't any more to remove and it's very smooth.
