It sure is a hazard to burn the way it sends sparks flying really far at any moment. My stove has exposed air vents up front with metal screens, but sparks easily find their way out. It's almost scared me away from using it. But it burns so long. I burn it with the vents practically shut, since I use that wood while I'm sleeping or away for a while, and don't want sparks getting out. I have to get a really hot fire going so it stays hot for a while since the vents are so closed down. Even if my stove had a safer design of vents, you risk a whole several hours worth of log blowing apart like firecrackers in 5 minutes if things shift, and it gets too much air.

I do think the 25ft bar is a good idea: more chain so it doesn't dull so fast. I'd use minimal hook and a 20deg top plate.

Get it & use it. It all burns & burns great. I great more sparks from Mulberry. At 4-5 years its still soft ( so to speak). The older it is the better it burns.
