I have been reading and learning from this and two other sites over the years and finally decided to join. In my quest for chainsaws, I fell for a MS191t at an auction. While attempting to repair saw, I learned that this saw was not Stihls best attempt at quality. I got it fixed up and been using it sparingly over the last few years. When using it sunday it shutoff while sitting on the ground idling. I went to start and no fire. Grabbed another saw. Came back half hour later and fired right up. I used for a little bit and saw started to cutout intermittently and finally died. Hooked up spark tester and found no spark. What are my options for a new replacement coil? I have not checked with stihl, but a web search indicates the oem coil is no longer available. Thanks for your help for this and other things I have learned from these sites!

Welcome to OPE.
Trace your ignition wires and plug wire looking for bare spots. Could be shorting out against metal
