Why I'm so slow on the uptake I don't know.Yesterday I've finally gotten back to a rebuild,restore of two Partner p-100s .In removing one I had to pop the cir clips out of the piston which I usually use a ice pick .Found something better ,a nut pick .Who knew .This thing is the cats meow ,curved with a flat spot .Couple bucks on flea bay

I can still see that bark edged wooden bowel with the center knob that was drilled to hold them.
Dang. Now I want some fresh shelled pecans!!

You can break the shells of pecans by holding two together in your hand .A Brazil nut is another story .The black walnuts I have in my woods take a vise or a ball peen hammer .

I prefer a hatchet for black walnuts. I got good at it with one. Hold the nut, or peice of nut against the hatchet and tap against a hard surface until the shell cracks.
