Humidity around 60% most days we're still a long way from the equator

60% is comfortable.

I'd much sooner take over 100 with that humidity than 80 with 90% humidity

Couldn't agree more lived in Darwin for 2 years 100% humidity in the wet season @32°c that humidity was stifling it was like taking a shower with your clothes on then walking around outside
