I've been working out, my second best result I think.

Yesterday I was able to finish diagnosing the 357 and it had an air leak at the intake boot that I’m pretty sure was cause by another ham fisted family member getting it stuck and pulling it out instead of using a wedge or another saw. So as I thought dad had nothing to do with it. He only made two cuts before it happened. The cylinder is salvageable so it’ll be good to go with a piston.

On the way home from work I had a caliper that locked up on me so I had my son do most of the work changing it out.


I will never take shed or garage spaces for granted ever again.

Yep, 25hp (FH721V1) in a X500. Been good so far. Basic upkeep incl. a valve adj. and several carb drains/bowl cleanings. Oh changed transaxle fluid a couple of times.

There is a online digital Kawa 140pg service manual that covers a bunch of engine models, (FH451V,FH500V,FH531V,FH601V,FH641V,FH680V,FH721V)
and JD Operator manuals here
