A 550XP will be dead in a heap long before the MS261. Plus the Autotune system sucks by comparison.

No argument from me, but I did put almost 500 hours on my early 562 without a lick of trouble, so there are decent units out there.

The 357 and 372 are still two of the best saws ever made.

500 hours on a 5 series is a long life for those......but I was mostly referring to the fact that the saw has to be plugged up at the dealer should it need a firmware update, or a reset. Whereas most Stihl saws can be reset in the field by the user. That sorta bugs me. Both are doing their very damnedest to keep people like me from being able to do any diagnostics on their products.....which also chaps my ass.

We have this 1 service writer I rarely mention. His name is Evan, but I call him Even.
I just heard how this morning he was attempting to help a customer for about 45 minutes program their garage door opener.
They were not attempting to program an integrated opener that some cars have. They were actually sitting in the service drive area trying to program a hand held remote to the customer's garage door opener...
Was said customer a hot blonde?

My Dad doesn't play a tough guy on the internet either.
I prefer him to use the low kickback chain.
I had a lot of customers come in and wanted yellow chain because it was "moar aggressive", even in the 3/8p stuff. They made it sound like the green chain will take 10 minutes to cut through a 6" tree where as the yellow would do it in 10 seconds or less.

I am glad that he got the 261, I hope he really enjoys it, I know I do!

I had a guy give me a 84dl green chain with bumper drive links in it was all.
I sharpened it and cut lots of wood with it.
Stihl makes good chains, even the green ones aren't bad. Lol
