Good morning. I kept working on the bush hog last night because I wanted to be done with it and not have to work on it today. At 10pm the last bolt stripped before it was anywhere near tight enough. So now I have to go buy another one. Sometimes you just can't win.

Bleagh. The CHANGE ENGINE light on the F150 is on, so I pulled the codes. Misfire on 1 and 3. Experience with this vehicle (4.6l V8) suggested this going be coilpacks and sparkplugs. I think I'm going to be lazy and let a real mechanic do this one. After all, its a patriotic duty to stimulate the economy, right?
I have an 02 f150 with 5.4. I've had to replace all the coils once and 1 twice. It blew a spark plug out of the head once, broke the coil and cracked the plastic intake. That was an expensive repair.

The whole coil-on-plug thing is theoretically brilliant, but its an expensive PITA in practice.

Im looking for a late 90s F150 with a 300 in it. Luddite special!

What is the Chevelles status Ed?

It's at my Dads house for him to drive. I'm not sure if he has had it out much. His knees and back are bothering him and he's putting off getting his cortisone shots because of timing of trips this summer. He also started to get headaches which was never a thing with him. Right now I know his main priority is getting his garden going. Of course he hasn't really backed off on the size of it much over the years either.
