Not Another Oil Thread!!!!

Just tore down a Husqvarna (RedMax) backpack blower that has an intermittent run issue and I wanted to make sure there was no internal engine damage before I condemned the coil. This is what the inside of the engine looks like after two years running Red Armor at 50:1 I know there is a lot of debate about the new formula vs. the old stuff but at this point I see no reason not to continue to run Red Armor.

It's good oil. Folks can have their opinions about everything, but if it works it works. My best buddy is a solid Chevy man, but he will always say the strongest toughest truck you can use with a regular license is a Ford F550.

Agreed, run time is a better judge of condition.

I have a mini Mac that only had red armor in It for the last three years..... but only one tank full before I threw the pos up there. See the comparison.

Weird you guys have such clean looking oil laying in the transfer pockets in the case. I usually have just about the same amount of oil laying in bottom of the case at 32:1. But its never so clean and clear looking. Decent looking residual oil left at 50:1 tho. I would be pleased if i opened that motor up. Also i wonder why some rods have the oil notch and many dont.

If I had to guess I would say this unit probably has 16 to 20 tanks through it (8 to 10 tanks a year average homeowner use).

I ordered a 350bt backpack blower the other day. Do you have any experience with them? Good, bad or otherwise..

I just wanna clean the driveway and the concrete out back. Not looking to move mountains. Lol
