Started the ball rolling on this today.... Husqvarna Z248F to replace my 2003 Toro Timecutter 17-44ZX.

Timecutter has been a great machine, however it's on the 3rd engine now, and is starting to nickel and dime me to death with small repairs.

A month or two ago, a buddy of mine picked up the bigger brother to the 248, the 254. Got an opportunity to demo the 254 and after looking it over and about an hour of mowing with it, I was sold on it.

Not going crazy with options/accessories, just a mulching kit and LED light kit.

More once the local dealer gets back to me.

I need a new mower. Mines so old the drag links an such are nla. Zip ties and copper wire only last so long. Actually it was the backup mower so a new mowers really over due.

No real budget as the landlords aka mom and dad are buying for me. I priced out different brands and in the 3k to 3500 range, the Husqvarna is the most bang for your buck.

Gotcha. Most all the homeowner equipment is pretty universal. Same engines, same hydros, same tires. Not a cub cadet fan either but those ZT1 mowers seem well built.

World lawn Diamondback is best mower for the price right now.

I have a Hustler,

Ztr is all about the components they use, gear drives are something you want to research

Local dealer has one in stock, got a very good quote so I had him put my name on it and order the mulch kit and light kit. Going to pick up in a few weeks!

This got me started mowing lawns on the side cub cadet RZT L along with a exmark metro gear drive. I did way more than it was meant to do.

I bought a Spartan this fall. No bagger yet so I had to fix the cub to get me through some of the lawns that have leaves. I’ll buy the bagger next season

I won't be using it heavily. My yard takes about 1/2 hour to mow and another 1/2 hour to trim and blow.

Picking her up tomorrow morning! As far as the non serviceable transaxles, the Hydro Gear IZT series transaxles on my 2003 Toro Timecutter have never seen touched with the exception of axle seals once, and they're still going strong. The Husqvarna has the Hydro Gear ZT2200 transaxles.
