Long time no see! I have the 2020 updated Husqvarna 555 on order. Does anyone know anything about it? Visually it follows the styling of the new 565. I sent an email to Husqvarna for the deets and just got a generic answer from the website which answers nothing. Its supposed to arrive early November, I hope. Ive been cleaning house and selling off a bunch of stuff. My 262 and 7900 have been sold to fund this and Ill be getting rid of more. Just trying to make room and simplify. Even this saw is more than I need at this point but I like 60cc saws. My dad still has the Dolmar 6100 and loves it but i wanted to use my local dealer. Ill update with pics once its in. Anyone who has any info, pics etc, please feel free to share in this thread. I think these are 560xp in Europe? Thanks!

Thats what I figured, thanks! When they were ordering they noticed the new item number so I quickly looked online and just had them order it. I usually do more research, but I was planning on a 555 anyways haha

I saw a lot

I ordered my 550xpg back in July from HL Supply and received it a few weeks ago. I knew that the heated grips were on backorder but was willing to wait. Can not say mich more as it's still sitting in the box waiting for me. Also got the pre-mix which should extend the warranty to 5 years.
Good luck and enjoy the saw.

Just noticed that you're getting the 555, but I'm sure you will enjoy it.

I like my 555, but unfortunately I have one of the 5 screw cases from 2012 and last year it started vomiting chain oil from under the muffler. Haven't gotten around to it yet but just plan on getting a replacement case for it to get it back in service. Keep us updated when you get yours, would love to see the new intake on it.

Yeah I don't think it'll be like the 550mkII that is a completely new saw ground up, rather it will be the same 555 facelifted with a few new parts. Good saws, I've got an older 555 but why not get a 565xp?? That's the latest/greatest detuned XP.

I was torn between this, the 550 and the 565. The 555 is already more than I “need” at this point and I figured the 555 is a good one saw plan. Plus I liked the weight. Overkill is underrated still applies in this situation haha. But like most things in life it comes down to money lol. I’ve sold enough already to pay for the 555 and most of a new table saw. Mine crapped the bed this summer. The rest of what I get rid of will go towards truck parts.

The 565 is a much better one saw plan than the 555 if you want to run anything bigger than a 20” bar. It will also perform a lot better in hot weather. Want to run a 20” bar all the time? Then the 555 makes sense.

20” is more than enough bar for anything I’ll ever do with it. May even go with an 18. Plus I really need the table saw. This gives me both without “spending” money lol. Trying to be careful with the state of the world right now.

Is there a link to the service bulletin? That’s what I was trying to find when I contacted husqvarna. But just got a copy paste from the website. Which tells you nothing haha.

I have a couple 555’s that we use in my tree service. Love em. I run 24” bars, chisel chain, put 562 inner dogs on them and a muffler mod. These are several years old, still going strong.

Well it was supposed to ship this week. New update is that there is no ETA. So I’m getting a 562xp which they have in stock. Ends up being about $70 difference if paying in cash. Will be picking it up early next week.

It should impress you, congratulations.

I have a dumb question.

Not being a Husqvarna guy, what does a de-tuned saw entail?

If a 555 is a de-tuned 562, how do they make that happen? Restricted muffler? Smaller displacement? More conservative porting? Smaller carb jets?

Can one take a 555 and make it a 562?

They have smaller transfer covers. Sort of like driving on the expressway and approaching a construction zone
