I be threatenin to send a 266 to @huskihl to have a ported 272 top end put on…I’d then have a 266 top end left over.

If I could get a OEM top end for this saw I could/would fix it. It’s going to need bearings as well.
If I can’t find a cylinder kit for it I will have to tell him that the saw is done.

Selling me the cyl kit would offset the cost of the porting for sure!

Will a 272 top end work on a 266se ?

Yes, 272 top end will go on, with the appropriate intake block and screws. However early saws(84ish and earlier) may have an interference issue with the plug on the top cover.

I could pull the top end off whenever. I probably have some extra bearings laying around too.
