I've got this 020t that seems to be weeping some fuel. It seems to be on the tank below the vent. Looked inside the tank and it has an orange flapper valve. Looked up the tank vent on an ipl and it had a different valve. An update? How do you fit the hose and the valve beneath the limited space between the tank and the top handle? If anyone has a picture of it it would help me out immensly. Got the feeling the orange flapper valve is the culprit.

Here’s the update kit. The brass sleeve is the install tool for the black plastic fitting. Delete the orange doohickey.

Yeah, I already have it on order. But does the vent sit down in the tank with enough room to sit below the top handle/carb box?

Well, the old vent evidently has been in there for quite awhile. The flapper valve came apart and the spongy thing up top wasnt so spongy. Just deteriorated when I went to take it out. It was a pia to get the rest of it out, but I finally got it out. I hope the new valve comes with intelligable instructions.

Yeah those red rubber one-way check valves fall apart eventually and are a pain to re-install. They work great though when they're working.

Here's a thing you probably didn't know... A pierburg carburettor fitted to a VW T25 1.9 dg uses the exact same orange valve in its internals, I know because I replaced one in mine with a stihl one!

And I dont know if any one has had this problem before. Its with the air filter. She runs like a banshee without the air filter with the carb screws 1 and 1. Put the air filter on her and she really fattens up. So much so that you really cant get her up to speed no matter what you do. The air filter is not dirty, got all its flocking. I bought it off ebay, used oem, and I'm wondering if the guy didnt spray it with some kinda oil. But, it wasnt real oily to the touch, just a little. Washed it anyway so we'll see when the vent and foam piece come in. Really wierd.

I took this pic last yr [29 Nov 19] I can’t find the kit at the mo, it’s around somewhere.. I’m not sure the duck bills are still in the tank after the kit is fitted.
I brought a bunch of stuff and iirc I brought two(edit duck bills) for another saw 026 or 044 because they were cheap and if I f'd one up I had another

Isn’t there two types of filters flocked and plastic mesh,, iirc others say flock sucks, it’s mesh you want. ??

You suppose it would come with the kit if that were the case. But, I really dont know. Dont those Germans write instructions instead of giving you dam pictures. How far down are you supposed to bang it?

Judging by the pic's (I guess it can be distributed anywhere, no translations)
It would seem you bang it down till the barb is below the plastic rim, ie all the way. And I wasn’t sure earlier but according to the SM you do leave the duckbill in. And it says bang it all the way
I will send you the sm & ipl
