My stairs finished

Ive had a couple people ask me about the walnut treads for my stairs I built so I figured I would just put it here.

Started off with about 80bf of 16/12 black walnut. Went to the kiln iirc for about 8 months.

I built the backbone from 6x6" .25" square tubing and 4" risers. 2x2' plate on bottom secured to doubled 10" floor joists.

I used 82* flat heads in milled grooves in the tread plates to attach the treads.

The weight of the backbone is 750 lbs and was quite entertaining placing it.

I just recently painted the steel and installed the treads.

No, I did not J. I came across a fella that had the walnut on his property and a bandmill.

Latex paint we used on the walls.
