So this may not be new to some, but I just started doing these this way on my last few saws. It is kind of a bonus to have a hollow / bare muffler and this gives a bit of muffling but still a big ole pipe. The pipe does not block the initial exhaust, but the gasses have to wrap around the top to get to the diagonal inlet for the pipe. Its aimed to the front inside. No wild technical wizzardry, but it's easy and I thought someone may benefit from it even though it kind of reminds me of some of the old pioneer mufs.

I like how the long exit tube worked on my echo 510. Seem like it makes more lean on it torque

I can't say that for my old echo 510. It brought the note lower. I used a tube that close matched the venturi bore. Worked great but later the canister cracked at the flange where it meets the jug. Cheapest stock muffler I could find was 70 dollhairs so I went a different route and piped the Lil *s-word and it pulls pretty frickin good with a work chain. Sounds great looks like a rat rod. Best part of it is on facebook when ppl se the pic of it and displacement they think there bigger work saw is still faster till I ask them if they want to run for grabs, needless to say they back down real quick once I fire the Lil rat up.

Yes he does. Looks great..... Maybe even a little classy, if you can use that word to describe a saw.

The muffler looks so good, I might have to invest in new plastics!
