When it comes to riding mowers, I like 'em small and simple. Such is the case with my 1995 Murray 8hp/30 RER I have had for about 12 years. It really hasn't been used much, the previous owner mostly kept it in storage.

This machine has a noisy Tecumseh TVM195 which runs quite well and starts easy. Last year the usual Tecumseh carb clog struck and no amount of Seafoam would bring it back. I can't stand not having it run, so I coughed up $80.00 for a new carb. Here's to another 25 years!

That's kind of what I am hoping for with the John Deere Hydra 185 I got last year. Get much better vibe than the newer crap that's out there. That fact it came with a snowblower on it was just icing on the cake.

Very nice, I bet that thing wasn't cheap back in the day either. I have an STX38 with a bad transaxle waiting to be put back together.

I'm sure not. Even today used still bring JD green. Your little Murray looks sweet. Way to keep it up.
