I am your student here. Purchased and assembled the Chinese clone MS660. I really enjoyed the build. I have a specific question concerning port timing and what to do to fix it. I mounted a degree wheel and the port opening measurements are as follows.
Intake 95 degrees ABDC (how to get to 80?)
Exhaust 95 degrees ATDC
Transfer 125 degrees ATDC
making blowdown 30 degrees :(
Squish 0.032” with base gasket
The question is do I simply grind the floor of the intake to get to 80 degrees?
Have machine work done to the base and squish?

IMO, I wouldn’t spend the money to have machine work done to a crappy cylinder like what come on the kit saws….but if you really want to, machine work would help you get your exhaust down a bit. As Kevin mentioned, you are already at 85 in the intake which is too low to run good. Machine work will exacerbate that , so you would be looking at adding epoxy to the intake floor to raise it back up. I should add that I am not an expert, so you might want to disregard my post. :D
