My 440 bit the bullet and locked up 12 yrs ago. Just stared to get around to fixing it this year. Crank turns a little mushy with the P&C off. Since I will be splitting the case I'm thinking of powder coating. I have that 440/460 build I've been collecting parts for. Been getting NOS parts. My starter is used and needs powder coating. Now I'm definitely getting them all done. I know there's a couple guys here who provide good service.
I'd like to know what paint is used for the correct color. There are two shops around here. One is 5mins away.
TIA

Be careful if the powdercoat guys have never powdered a saw before

With that said, I guess you will be the man I send it all to then. I was just wanting to drive 5 mins from my house and pick it all back up in a couple of days.
I already know your rep is top notch. you got the job.

@huskihl I'm wondering if there is a difference in the 044/440 starter covers?
I've got one I'm ready to order but I think I may have read somewhere that screw sizes are different?

The early 10mm 044 were the only ones that came with the smaller M4 screws for the starter housing. If your saw is a 12mm 044 or MS440 it should have the M5 screws.

You can use the older starter housing if you need to. Just drill out the screw holes and you’re good 2 go.

Haw common are the 2 to come up for parts sales? Should I leave this one alone for a 044 purist? I should I just order it and drill em out if need be?
TIA

Thinking of bringing my 044 cases to PA and handing them to you for powder. Maybe even bring along some 046 parts sitting next to the hybrid stuff.

What is your turn around time like right now for cases and such?

Lots of 044 parts out there still. I’d do whatever had to be done to make it work. Drill em out if needed.

Where in PA? The border's not to far from me.
