Other than the 9 tooth rim, are there other options to run .325 pitch chain on a MS 361?

Would the 7 tooth and 8 tooth drum for a 039 fit?

No it would not fit. Use the rim sprocket kit 0.325" 9T 1128 007 1011, including clutch drum, washer, e-clip and rim chain sprocket.

While waiting for a response, I picked up a 1125 640 2008 8 tooth .325 for a ms390 with a new 10x13x10 bearing. I have not tried to install yet. Will update with result.

If you really want to do this, the early 036 used a Stihl mini spline drum. Mini spline rims are available in 7 and 8 pin .325, and 7 pin 3/8. It also uses a smaller needle cage.

The later or upgraded 036 will use a large spline, which is what the 9 pin rim fits.

Shoot me a PM if you want to do some horse trading, as I have what you need and would prefer to go the other way...

Turned into a back burner project. Weather finally getting better around here. Going to start using saws instead of tinkering.

I have an original drum here from my 036 #1125 160 2900. Upgraded it to the large spline due to a crack. I do have a small spline (not stihl mini 11/16") 036 drum coming from HLSupply. Was sposed to be here by now. Looks like FedEx is running behind.

You’re good to go then. They have 7’s & 8’s in .325 for those (oregon) same as on a Husky
