Ms270 flywheel has a broken fin. Would this cause it to knock out coils?

Doubtful, that sounds like bad crank bearings or a bent flywheel.

Thanks for the reply. This is not my saw & I was told the flywheel actually came off while the guy was running the saw?????? I dressed up the burrs with a file. It has one fin broken off. Very good possibility the crank is bent. Is there anyway to check the runout on the crank?
Is there anyway to check the flywheel magnet to determine if it is defective.
It is not getting spark & the coil is an aftermarket coil. OEM coil part # is 1133 400 1202. Are there any aftermarket coils that are worth using.

Just take about same amount off fin 180 degrees opposite of that broken fin.
