My FIL has a MS250. The accelerator pump in the Zama carb sticks alot and the saw doesn't accelerate, just dies when you pull the trigger. Im curious if there is a better carb option avaliable since i have to replace it anyway.

Winter got here about 6 weeks early this year. Driving me nuts, but it's GREAT for the job!

Stihl bought Zama a few years ago. About a year ago, prices on carbs for some of the smaller machines just went through the floor.

The China dual adjustable carbs do just fine on these. They are available on Amazon in the sub-$15 range delivered.

The advice you got above is good, just saying there’s other options.

I don’t like accelerator pump carbs personally. They’re an epa thing to allow a lean idle and still keep throttle response usable.

Stihl bought Zama a few years ago. About a year ago, prices on carbs for some of the smaller machines just went through the floor.
Then that explains why I can no longer get my Zama rebuild kits from any of my Zama distributors that fits the Stihl products only. Last year I was able to but lately everything on Zama website is saying to buy through the local Stihl dealer which is about 3X the price I was paying for them before the change. The rb-155 that I paid 6.50 for last year was the other day was 18.00.

Basically holding me up without a gun. On top of that if they don't have the kit on hand they want another $20 for shipping. Looks and sounds like just plain highway robbery to me.
