big t double
You can call me Teddy Eastwood.....
been curious about this for a while...seeing how the values of these mtronic saws are affected after modifications made. had a chance this weekend with a 201t-cm. did the standard muffler opening and bumped the timing a little.
I took the saw stock and filled w/ shop mix...40/50:1 (depending who mixed that day) stihl ultra...yes that's what we use in the shop. whatever. I ran it about a half a tank to get the computer to set itself to conditions, cut on some what I believe is poplar that we had dropped off..not sure. I had the tech hook it up to check the baseline
idle: 68
full: 52
actually the idle showed a little high within its spec but the computer said it was fine. so after I took it home and did the mods I ran the rest of the ultra through, didn't last long, and then refilled w/ 40:1 klotz to finish (that's all I had on hand), also it was on a different day so the temps weren't the exact same and the wood I have at home is also different...it wasn't a scientific redbull type test, mostly just out of curiosity. hooked it up this morning before the guy came to get it.
idle:66
full: 52
so the idle settled down a bit and the full speed value is the same. its seems this m-tronic crap compensates for those mods and keeps the saw right within spec. so basically I wrote this whole long diatribe to let you know nothing changes on the m-tronic side of a modified 201t-cm. your welcome for wasting the last few minutes of your day...carry on
***in all honesty I would still like to see if a fully ported m-tronic saw would show any changes to the fuel values ...just haven't had the chance to get one before and after.****
and now the gratuitous muffler pic
