My meteor was fine. Ran like stock Oem. I owned two stock for a few months. If I would have handed you each one you could not have told the difference. I'm not sure of the age of my kit since it came on a saw I bought, but the port bevels and finish were as good or better than the mahle.

Resale value will not be as high though.

Older Tecomec were decent- got 4 years on one before it died. Wasn’t too impressed with the port bevels but the casting and plating were nice.

Got a 2012/13 Hyway kit still alive. Plugged decomp, caber rings. Has 155-ish compression with an AM base gasket. Direct bolt on. Firewood duty and I ran it hard for a few seasons.

Since 2012 I’ve lucked into all oem cylinders with Meteor pistons. I have 4/5 1125 cylinders plus 6 on running saws. The farmertec I’ve seen were rough... same with “Laser” brand.

If you can buy a used oem cylinder from someone like @bplust I think oem pistons are just over $60 on eBay. Although it's still more than the $120-140 the meteor sets are selling for.

It would be cool to have a saw that nice all oem
