I found this little guy sitting in the scrap yard on top of a junked out mower.
The guy there said to just toss it in my truck.
I may later wish I had left it, but we will see.

From what I found online, this appears to be a rather old version. The recoil housing is built into the case, and it has no brake provisions.

Upon initial inspection, it pulled over ok. Checked spark and had that going, so lets dump some mix in and see what happens..
Ahh, fuel leak from somewhere inside.

So, lets tear it apart.

Clutch cover off.

Best I can tell, the only thing that may be missing is a deflector on the muffler. Not sure if there is supposed to be one or not.

I believe this could possibly be the original bar too.
The whole thing seems to have seen little use.

The rear handle lifts off.

Followed by the front handle.

Now, I realized I never checked to see if the oiler works.

It does!

2 screws and the front cover pulls off.

I didnt get a pic of the tank installed. But, it pretty much just pulls straight out. Going back is the hard part according to @Stump Shot .

I assume that chunk of WTF in there is the fuel filter.

Link disconnected.

Heres where it took me a moment to figure out I forgot to remove the choke lever.
Then I noticed the carb screws would not clear. They didnt want to turn in either, so I was able to get them out.

Then, a wiggle, a jiggle, a couple cuss words and it fell out onto the bench.

Heres why it leaked. The fuel line fits into the tank like a hotdog down a hallway.

Heres where I stopped. I "assume" I just remove the screw from the condenser, then the 3 retaining the carb and coil and lift all along with the little black points block off.

True?

These are the only markings on the carb.
I want to put a kit in, so if anyone can i.d. it for me, that would be great!

So far only once. At myself when I noticed I forgot the choke lever.

I got the cases all scrubbed up, but didnt get pics yet.
I need to research parts sources. I need the fuel line. Filter would be good too.
Also a carb kit.
I might just vac/pressure test and live on the edge with the crank seals if it passes, unless they are easily attainable and not stupid in price.

Lol,well that's good. I don't know about parts availability but I can tell you be gentle with the starter recoil and housing, break very easily.

The mini Mac I had oiled like the Exon valdes. So if the Oiler works, it’s good for at least 20” of bar lol. My saw had an air leak, and I had no time. It got tossed. I did manage to save the bar and chain. If you need that let me know.

Should be able to find everything you need on FleaBay, there's some stick up artists on there so be careful.
The fuel filter is literally a square peg in a round hole.
Not sure about the carb, try and find some markings or search for the model of mini you have.
See if Ray Benson has a manual for this specific model.
Double check your triple check on everything. Pressure check case and carburetor.
Don't forget to place the carb linkage on top of the magnet on the flywheel when putting it back together.
Can put a Nova II chip on it to replace the points and condenser if you think it needs it.
You can spin motor with a drill and make sure there is "GOOD" spark.
Make sure oil and fuel make their connections as it's going back together.
Piece of cake. Lol

Good tip on sticking the throttle rod to the flywheel @Stump Shot . Thanks!

The fuel lines that I found all have a plastic end with an O-ring seal. I assume this is simply an updated version to the solid rubber one I have and likely something done to correct the fuel leak issue this one has?

Hopefully tomorrow I can spend some time sourcing a carb kit. I know I wont have time today. Need to work on D-max head gaskets and put a front hub on my truck.

Heres a few pics of the parts I did clean up.
If I can't get it running, at least it will make a fairly clean door stop!

Ed, i have everything you need! Just let me double check on the carb kit. If you can find one the Zama carb runs much better than the walbro MDC.
