I've been looking for a new in tree mid size saw. Something in the 60-70cc range that can be equipped w/ a full or 3/4 wrap handlebar. I'm looking at the 562 and the 362 as well as Echo's 620pw looks decent as well. Mostly using a 20" bar but may occasionally throw a 24" w/ full skip if needed. 462 is probably nice up in the tree but I can't justify spending that much at the moment. Really wish my 272xp had a decomp, I don't feel like starting that up there. Just wondering what other climbers are using in the 60-70cc range. Thanks

I really like my 562 with the 3/4 wrap on the ground and in the tree. Running a 24" bar fwiw. It's also a 2017 model so the autotune software is pretty well figured by now.
I havent tried the 362 cm yet but a coworker just bought am echo 620 and it's a ripper. Reminds me of my old 371xp.

I run a 562 with a 24 in the tree when needed. Couldn’t ask for a better work horse. On the ground I’ll run a 372 but it pulls a little to much on my saddle...

I still have a soft spot for the 562xp it was my favorite saw I really look forward to the new version. Currently if on a 60cc budget i would lean towards the newest version stihl 362 with an es bar just dont accidentally run it out of fuel up in the tree or restarting wont be fun

If money were no object and of the saws mentioned the 462 would be my choice. I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with one in the tree a few months back.

You really couldn't go wrong with any of the other saws mentioned. Maybe see if your echo dealer has a customer appreciation day coming up. They offer 15% off. Hard to beat that on a 620pw.

The 462 may cost more … but you will also get more.

I am not a pro, but I have a 462 w/20" light bar, and if I made my living with a saw that is what I would get.

Light, powerful, great balance, and instant throttle response. Just what you need!

So after porting and shipping you will just be out a few months time! The cost will be close to the same, and I doubt the performance will be better.

That's where it helps to port your own, then it just takes a day.

Lots of good choices good luck with whatever you decide. In stock form the 562xp runs very nice i dont think the 362 runs as strong stock as the 562 but i have more confidence in the 362s reliability and starting at least until the new 562 comes out. The 462 is basically the same weight as the 562xp and has good bit more power judging from the videos of them running and there rated hp and it should being over 10cc bigger, so it really comes down to how much power you are willing to pay for or can afford. me id take the 462 its worth it.......

Hrm.. a 462 in a tree, 9 pin rim, 325 chain, 20" lightweight bar would be a hell of a tool.

Own lots of saws of all brands. If I was started new with my knowledge and no saws. It would be a 620. People in trees drop saws...and cost matters. How often do you want to hear that open muffler when it’s up next to your ear as your working at a higher working height than when bucking etc.

Just things to consider.
