I’ve added a max flow foam filter to my stock 261c. It now leans out when you come off the trigger. Even resetting the carb doesn’t seem to help.
I have some experience porting saws but I’m unsure if basic porting will help this or possibly the carb needs to be drilled out to richen the air/fuel mixture?

Any ideas?

Is it a V1 Mtronic ?

I’m honestly not sure how to tell which version it is. I’ve let it idle with the Mtronic switch in the down position for 90 sec which I thought is how you reset them.
Do the different versions have a different procedure?
Also where do you find out the version #?

It’s actually a version three so the reset is the 30/30 method. runs a little bit better now but still too lean

If it doesn’t have much run time on that air filter, it might take a bit for the saw to figure it out.

Might be the solenoid

If by chance it’s not a v3 mtron, 1 and 2 had a smaller main nozzle opening. 3 is larger and seems good on a ported saw.

Two out of the four bolts holding the top and down were slightly stripped. Just enough that there was a slight air leak. This was causing it to lean. Going to throw some timeserts in and try again
