I replaced the coil since the old one was cracked and still didn't get any spark. I noticed a bolt that comes through the shroud has an eyelet. Is something missing or not wired correctly?

I'd start by cleaning the points first, you can use the missus finger nail file or double up a piece of sandpaper if you don't have a points file on hand. Follow by dragging a piece of paper through the point contacts until it's clean. Now unless you have specific tune up specs for your particular model, set the point gap to .018" that should get it to run.
Also check that the shorting wire isn't shorted/grounded out somewhere. Use an ohm meter or disconnect and check for spark.
If still no spark, you have either a bad condenser or another bad coil.
