Does anyone know where to get crank seals for a Dolmar 420 or Makita EA4300,
do these saws even use the same crank seals and bearing, is the seal separate
from the bearing or somehow built onto the bearing.

I gave that guy on AS the best dealer info I could think of and he blew it off. If Steve doesn’t have it or can’t get it, I doubt there are any

Marked RED in the attached pictures!
Pre 2015 builds have identical "Combination Ball Bearings" on both sides, these are found in most Dolmar and Makita IPL's I have:
- 960 123 129 , about 18€ a piece

Marked BLUE in the attached pictures!
2015 builds and after feature a new design which incorporates one combination ball bearing, as mentioned above, on the clutch side (960 123 129).
The flywheel side features a 6201 ball bearing and a separate "Radial Ring":
- 962 900 156 superseded by 213141-5 , 2015-02=> , ø12/20x5 radial ring , about 5.5€
- 960 102 131 , 2015-02=> , 6201 ball bearing , about 11€
- 960 102 121, =>2018 , 6201 ball bearing
- 211341-1, 2019=> , 6201 ball bearing

All parts are listed in stock in Germany!
I would print out the attached pictures or IPL and see what my nearest Dolmar/Makita dealer can come up with.

That is correct, he complained that they didn`t have a eMail addy in their website. I brought it to attention that they did have a phone number on their site.I am getting a feeling the OP wants someone to just drop these parts into his lap.

That was not me on the other site, so no, I do not expect anything dropped in my lap.

Thanks for posting the part numbers @Wilhelm
I see there are three different part numbers for the 6201 bearing noted at the bottom of the chart,
one 2019, one for 2018 and another for 2015, so there must be a difference in the actual bearings
for these years.

Makita may have just superseded the part numbers as to set them off the original IPL where both crank side bearings featured the exact same part number.
As far as I noticed, the 9 digit part numbers are Dolmar, Makita seems to replace them with their 6+1 digit Maruyama-Style part numbers for whatever reason.

On that particular part I think You'd be OK with either part number.
Your Dolmar/Makita dealer of choice , or on-line parts supplier, may not even have all three part numbers listed - mine sure doesn't.
But if You have all required info, and a choice, go with the part number that is supposed to fit Your particular unit! :)

And, You are very welcome!

I should’ve mentioned in my 1st post that I knew it wasn’t you. That one’s on me. Sorry for that
I only spoke up as I didn't want to be seen as an ungrateful sort, thick enough skin
otherwise.
Its just dawned on me that you guys who port these wouldn't actually
be aware of the seal bearing saga as they changed over time as you wouldn't
be changing them out on a porting job unless they leaked.
Am still confused, even with Wilhelm 's chart, one would need to get the year
correct at very least, better still if we could go by serial numbers.
In any event I have mine up for sale, if they don't sell then I will get a set of bearings and seals
and hang on to them.
Has anyone ported an Echo 4310 yet, they seem the closest saw to the 4300 / 420.

Thanks again @Wilhelm , Am selling my EA4300 saws, if they don't sell I will get a set of bearings and seals.
Am still keen to see if Dolmar also stop manufacturing gas powered saws, so far I only
read it was Makita, who own them anyway.
My local Dolmar dealer stopped all Dolmar products, not one on their website,
they continue with the Echo brand.

So, You do not yet have a seal leak, You merely fear one? o_O

That is why I have spare saws, preferably of the same model - anything fails on one of them she can be fixed or kept as a parts saw.
May sound cruel to the saw in question, but that is my thinking.

My dealer of choice introduced Echo, Husqvarna and AM parts to his shop offering during this year - it makes me a little weary and question future parts supply! :confused:

If Makita, as the parent of Dolmar, forces Dolmar to seize production and sales of gasoline powered equipment then they better do the same to Maruyama or I'll get really pissed!!! :mad:

@Wilhelm , is the Echo CS4310SX available in your area, they don't seem to
be available in Ireland.

No leaks @Wilhelm , just trying to future proof, I have two EA4300 saws, one unused.
I think Hecht and some others like Stiga use the same engine, so they will be goners too.

The 4310 seems to be from their pro series with the SX in the title, and I can't see them in Ireland,
Wilhelm may be able to get one, I see some video of them in other parts of europe.
