I got a nower that needs belts. Its a cub cadet. The small engine shop i deal with cant find any info on belts.
So i just fixed up a mtd mower for my boy and it looks identicle belt setup wise.
I do believe from my research they are made by same company.

And help or info on all belt numbers wpuld be great.

Thanks for any help

Cub Cadet is indeed an MTD company.
While the two machines may look similar, the exact parts may be different.
Search for the correct part numbers for your machine.
I use partstree.com to look up part numbers and go searching online for the part.

From my experiance you are best to use OEM belts from a dealer .Others might be the correct size but don't seem to last as long .I got 10 years out of the original OEM for a Toro zero turn but the replacement Gates belt only about a year before it failed .The Toro belt was pricey ,nearly 100 dollars . I only put around 25-30 hours a year on that mower ,mowing 2.5 acres .A few of those hours are using the mower as a little tractor pulling a lawn cart to gather fire wood .The deck belt doesn't get used for that task .

Now then changing a deck belt on a large mower is quit a task for the average person including myself .Blocking the machine up so you can even get to the work laying on a concete floor using come -alongs the get the belt over the spindles and idlers .Unless you have the arms of a gorrilla it takes some enginuity to get-er-done . I'll just say I practiced a lot of my vast knowledge of profanity which didn't really help . A mower shop has a lift I don't .

Out of curiosity I checked my invoices on this mower .I keep pretty good records .That belt was $119 plus the two idler pullies at $25 a apiece .I figured at sometime they would fail so I got the jump on them rather than run them until they failed and tore up the deck belt .

That model number does not seem to be valid, even on Cub’s Canadian site. It may have a sticker on the underside of the hood with belt part #s. Post a pic of that or any generic model number on the side of the hood.

Interesting.
The 13A260 prefix comes up as a White Outdoor tractor (also part of MTD) but the rest of the model number doesn't match with anything.
Not sure what you have there.
Also agree with Al Smith about using OEM belts. They can be expensive on some machines like JD and Toro, but they hold up much better than the cheap aftermarket ones.

There are usually numbers on a belt (if you can read them). Any place worth their salt will have a belt measuring device. NAPA comes to mind. Of course, you will need to have the belts off the machine. I have been quite shocked at the prices of mower belts when needed.

PS I've never seen a belt that had to be pried onto the pulleys. Everything seems to have a tensioner that can be released to produce slack.

The local shop has belts where you can match them up and if they don't have it I'll cut it and then measure and order it by size from Grainger's
