I have a friend of mine that has a lead on a mint condition Jonsered 801. The seller wants him to just make a offer. I've not seen the saw and understand that it looks almost unused.

Only thing possibly wrong is the saw it pulls hard....it runs good and starts fine. My friend has started larger saws like 660s so when he says pulls hard... it's hard!

The million dollar question is what's it worth and Is there any know problem areas with the 801 to look for?

They're a good saw and should pull hard, factory compression is about 195 with no decomp. They have a lot of potential, and can REALLY run.

Parts are a little scarce, ignition problems are difficult to troubleshoot, but still worth picking up for a hundred or so. Maybe more if its nice.

They have potential to really run good. My 5 cube saw is a 80, here is a 801 that I work ported a while back.
