At work we have a 2260 that needs a new brake flag. When I looked it up on line the part is NLA and I didn't see anywhere that I could buy NOS. what parts change over to Husqvarna 555/562's? Do all the parts fit but the color is different?

Thanks

I am sure someone on here knows more than me but from what I can tell. 2260 and 562 have the same case but different brake handles because top cover and top handle are different. I have both so if someone doesn't come up with a good answer I could bolt the 562 flag up to the 2260 so you can see what it looks like

Since the 2260 uses a small mount bar, I'm thinking the case would be similar to a 555 or 560. I would think a brake flag for an earlier Husky 555 or 560 would work, but as you said, would be the wrong color. The 555 and 562 show different flag #'s, so I'm not sure that a 562 flag would fit. I'm not an expert, so hopefully someone else comes along to confirm or correct.

I think the main issue with using a 555 brake handle will be interference with the handlebar. It looks like the Jonsered handlebar sits forward on the unit more than the 555 handlebar does. It looks like the 2260 brake handle sticks out further as a result.

That is a good callout!

And historically the jonsered had a straight across front handle.

Maybe it would work better to get a 562 flag and top handle?
