I have a blade brake pad that's completely worn out and the metal is hitting the pulley. Other than being a safety issue, will this cause more damage if the pad is not replaced?

Is it still hitting when PTO lever engaged?
If it is the pad is bent.
Just need to bend it back a bit with pliers or small shifter.

The bracket that the brake pad was attached to is hitting the pulley because the pad is completely gone. The other pad works fine and is barely worn. Engages and disengaged properly. Just wondering if the missing pad will cause damage.

Yes, it will eat the pulley. Replace the pad or remove the system completely at your own risk.

I'd say it will take a while to damage the pulley, from my experience, but it will make a bunch of noise and of course isn't as safe (no lawn mower is).
