I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the EA5600fr or can shed some light on it? Is it a Dolmar model. I hear it is the farm ranch grade. So like the 510 is to the 5105. Is this a makita attempt at a saw that is not dolmar?

No, but at least they have tested out the idea.

Moderate 50cc power for 70cc weight didn't catch on for some reason.

That aside, there has been a 56cc model on basically the PS-5000 case - but that was done by Solo, not by Dolmar or Makita. http://chainsaws.homeowl.com/l/147/Solo-656-18

It is of course possible that Makita/Dolmar is making a 56cc version of the 6100, for the "farm and ranch" market. http://www.makitatools.com/chainsaws

The Solo 656 and the 5000 series Dolmar are completely different saws

Not going to see any 4-stroke chainsaws from Dolmar / Makita.
