The old 856 has had a weak TA for over a year. Last fall it got parked in the Operating room.... And never touched. Thankfully it was untouched when the skidloader burned because it has a front end loader and I could still feed cows.
Good work on a big job. I put a clutch and flywheel in a 856 last spring and was just glad the T/A was still good. Had to split the tractor twice...the clutch kit was aftermarket and had small burrs on the pressure plate that were hanging up inside the flywheel. Talk about pissed off when we buttoned everything back up and couldn't get the clutch to engage.
I believe it had the original TA! The Heavy duty TA's have a extra disk. It's been years and years sence we had to replace a TA.... I was a little kid handing wrenches to my dad.
My 856 doesn't have the t/a 1486 is surging rpms..... That sound like pump? Planting corn w her right now... Keeps it up 856 will go back to planting duty. Yesterday my monitor quit on row 3 .... Chain jumped off of row three..... Luckily I caught it had several rounds to plant one row back in but not too bad those upgraded t a are worth it we put one in the 1486 it's been there for a while now Old ih pretty hard to beat . We ain't racist round here so we run em all but the old reds are pretty great machines
If I were to guess I'd say the governor in the pump is starting to go. That's a Roossa/ Stanadyne pump I believe. That's kind of the way the pump in my 706 acted like when it was on it's way out.
My 706 engine is getting worse.... Clunk clunk clink I don't even know where to begin on her... 14 is in the field very busy.... It's that time I year 706 is my "forklift" cow tractor light duty ol gal think ima just try to find a new engine that fits? That's a very nice setup mr czar has there that's the kinda thing that makes heavy jobs easy
