Hi all. I'm new and looking for advice and inf . Ty in advance for any. I bought the knock off 372xp new. First it has all silver bolts. Shouldn't at least the cylinder bolts be black?? I put a new hyway big bore pop up piston and cylinder on it. Base delete with yama lube. Squish around 25 thousandths I had 180 plus compression. I started and warmed up the saw and let it cool off a few times. put a bar and chain on and tested it out. Only cut 10 blocks of wood. Shut it Down let it cool off and it wouldn't crank like it was locked up. I took muffler off and could see a piece of a caber ring caught in exhaust port. I took the cylinder off and one of the rings was broken. The saw seemed to be running fine. Then took off like crazy. Went lean I guess. Did that cause my top ring to break?? Also is it even worth messing with another piston? The cylinder looks fine. Advice?? Ty

I'd relieve the port edges and just run the top ring..
I've got two of the same kits as you no issue's.
Strong runner's
But i don't recommend the china stuff anymore too much variation.

I just put the original back on. Hell with that saw.

They are reliable saws after some tinkering.
I have a few and have cut a lot in two year's
With them.
The problems I had were the china rings didn't last long swapped to cabers
And fuel and pulse line's failed after a few month's.
And i trimmed the circlips
Or used oem.
I've had no failures since then.

Funny things is the OP's caber ring broke.
