would this make husqvarna have to offer up purchase of the husqvarna scan tool so I can reset husqvarna saws ect?
If it does, then they may choose to charge $5,000 or more just to keep it from getting into everyday folks hands. Would be awesome to update your own firmware or reset it for sure. Would be nice to get a download of info before buying a saw, this way you can verify that the so called low hour saw doesn't have 600 hours on it. I am surprised that nobody has created a hack to get into it...its not like they are running on Linux or Windows...could you imagine the saw getting the Blue Screen of Death....oh wait, they do just without the blue screen.

Would be nice to have one of these too, but too pricey for me. I think I could repair all of my chainsaws and one of my cars for that price.

It’s only needed for the 500i for the most part, have done much as far as new parts on an autotune and don’t know how fussy the remapping is with new replacement major parts or if a field calibration is enough. I just get some newer huskies in to repair and need to figure out what i need so I can service them since the local shops aren’t great on service with any brand.

You can reset autotune without computer and Husqvarna tool.

I know they can be field recalibrated like stihls but didn’t know how picky they were with change/update in electrical components. Husky says any major part being changed it’s supposed to be hooked up. Stihl says a recalibration is recommended after any major component change but the field reset seems good enough.

I got one of the Gen-1 boxes still sealed off ebay from some estate sale listing for $70 It works great but I cant download anything. I can reset the saw to factory and view the hours along with the run time in WOT/Idle/Part throttle. Test the carb for temp reading and proper fuel solenoid operation. BUT the issue im having now, any new Husky AT carb comes blank and needs to be flashed with operating software and sinked with the coil ID # for that specific saw. If Husqvarna ever comes around to the idea of Joe Saw Owner getting this stuff they need to make it into a phone app so you can access the saw in the field. Hell Id shell out $200 for proprietary iphone/Husky connect cables and an app access just to be able to look at a saw Im about to buy of FB. It would only take not buying 1 saw with a 11-de-billion hour on it to pay for itself.

That’s because husky sucks and doesn’t want you to fix your own stuff, i would have thought after John Deere losing the lawsuit for right to repair husky would have been forced to allow people to buy the stuff if they chose too. I have one too but was told it wouldn’t work unless I could get a dealer to say I worked for them and had that listed.

Have you tried it?
Do you have the install disk?

Its a matter of having a Dealer Account Login. Ive gotten on to the Dealer sight up to the login, but thats were it stops. I assume if you do have an dealer account thats where the links in the diagnostic portal are active and not "dead" The update link in mine sends me to my hard drive, so I guess you download the saw specific software on the dealer sight and the diagnostic tool finds it after....?!? :nusenuse:

No i have not used it and it sounds like version 2 is coming and will require a monthly subscription to have it for the dealership
