HL Supply has it now, picked up a loop last month, And Dam !!! Dose It Cut !!!
Ran it on a 262xp ( stock ) 24" Sugihara, and it Out Cut All of My Still 3/8" Chain's on Fir.
It lives up to the Hype....
I noticed the top plate of the cutter seems much more angular than some of the other chains...
Seems like they rely on the point to cut the wood...
Not exactly sure, just my quick observation...
Still, it cuts really nice out of box...
Really Nice !!!
I only had time to make a few cuts when I got it So No idea how long it's going to Cut Well in Fur, But Husqvarna SHOULD Call it
" Rabid Beaver " Chain !!!
Maintaining the factory grind appears to be largely out of the question. I saw some on the wall at a local OPE shop while I was helping mom buy a new mower today. With time to kill while they prepped the new mower I grabbed it and asked who knew about saw chain and specifically sharpening it. They grabbed the guy from the back who does the sharpening and he was actually smart enough to see the issue and explain to the others what was in front of their face. The factory x-cut grind cannot be replicated on a common grinder or with any file I've ever seen. So they decided to call Husqvarna and ask how they were supposed to re-sharpen them to the factory grind. Official Husqvarna answer to them... Not gonna happen. I felt kind of bad for dicking with them and forcing one to listen to how a two stroke pipe works so I bought one and they raped me for 35 bucks on an 84 dl.
Only way I see to do it would be to custom dress a wheel on a Silvey or Simington. Kinda messed up they're selling a chain their dealers can't maintain.
It’s sort of like Stihl RSK chain. No way to sharpen it like they did at the factory. They just sucker you in with the fast cut from the get go. The C83 looks nice but I don’t want to buy a loop just for my 346.
