Just bought new 562. Love it! Would like to put out side felling spike on clutch cover. Found 2 different part numbers for spike kits for full wrap handles. Whats the difference between 576873002, 576873004? Beside 20 bucks!

Another question I couldn't find an answer to. Is there a clutch cover spike to match the stock one that came on the saw?

Yes there is a standard outer dog to match. The west coast ones are bigger that come in the set you’re referring to. The numbers to what are a pain to decipher. Get a hold of Ramrat or Spike60 they’ll get you what you want

I had the same issue with my 562. You can get a full wrap and a set of the larger spikes. They are the exact same style as the ones that are on it, but a good bit bigger. You can also get a full wrap and a west coast clutch cover. The west coast cover won't fit the original style 562 dogs and switches over to a 372 type dog that is bigger than the big 562 ones. Thats the 2 different part numbers. One kit with a west coast cover and 372 spikes, the other kit having no clutch cover and just bigger 562 spikes. I wanted a west coast cover but not the extra big spikes. So I ended up with just the normal cover and the medium spikes

Also if you get the west coast clutch cover and dogs, the bar nuts are no longer the captive bar nuts that stay on the cover

I don’t remember the number but I got the smaller outer to match the stock inner spike. Was like $20. Wouldn’t want to give up the captive bar nuts lol

I bought a 562xpg the other day and switched over the big dogs from my xp. This saw really doesn't need the big dogs but they look pretty cool lol The captive nuts are definitely a game changer

Definitely like the captive bar nuts. Have had the cover off several times in the woods, you really learn to appreciate them quickly!

They do look cool! Those would probably be ok with a 24"+bar,which I've been running alot, but a little overkill for shorter ones. Do you know if those were part #576873002 by any chance?

I think 577 97 52-01 is the part number for the outside dog that matches the stock one, not including the nuts/bolts, and I think 576 87 30-02 is the kit for the bigger dog pair with chain catcher. I welcome feedback from anyone that actually knows because I was planning to buy one as well one of these days.

Thanks for the reply. I totally agree with wanting the west coast cover but not the huge spikes. I put the west coast covers on 385's because they were constantly plunging up ,and that helped alot. Are you saying that the 576873004 kit has the spikes and the cover?

What is this West Coast cover you speak of? Husqvarna's ipl for the 562 doesn't list any....

I haven't seen it in the 562 ipl I have either. The one for the 372,385,390 has a wider chute to clear chips better. It's not alot wider, it just doesn't curl in at the bottom.

I saw that one. Just need to find screws and nuts to fit.
I picked up two m5 nuts today from the hardware store so I could bolt an outside dog on mine, I had the m5 bolts and the nuts fit perfectly in the space for them.

From what I believe, the west coast cover isn't actually for the 562. Its for the 572, but it fits a 562.

Do not listen to what I said up here lol.. I reapeat, slightly a *pretty boy. So 562 is outboard clutch. 572 is inboard. No Bueno. 572 clutch cover WILL NOT fit a 562. I really can't believe I never realized that until now...
