Hi All, am new so please forgive obvious errors. Talking of which - I made a beauty trying to get the clutch off a 550xp. Please don't say I should have used a piece of rope, hindsight is a wonderful thing & I feel a total ass. Yup, you guessed it - it feels like the con rod might be bust, the piston may have a hole punched in it & the bore might be scored. Won't know 'til I strip it down & not experienced at that either but the repair is uneconomic unless done myself. Am fairly practical & have a workshop but need a service manual for the 550, not the 560 et al. Any suggestions for utube videos would be good too. If the bore is too badly scored, the new cylinder & piston is probably too expensive at ~£300 to be worth the job but I would fit a new piston & rod as that seems to come in circa £120. Otherwise that brisk 'tap' I gave the clutch plate will end up costing me about £500. DOH & double DOH. What a numpty. Hope some of you good folk can help the brain cell that's left ..
