That doesn't bother me. I've kinda become used to cleaning parts off, especially the saws I've been working on lately!!! Lol. I just appreciate the gesture. Ain't the richest man in terms of material things but am blessed when it comes to friends. Whats the difference between open/closed port jugs on this saw? Doesnt matter, especially to my nephew, just asking for my memory banks.
Open port just means that the transfer tunnels are open to the bore of the cylinder for their entire length, and they have stabilizing "ribs" to support the piston. Closed transfers have a bridge that covers part of the transfer tunnels to increase velocity. Closed transfer port engines usually generate more power in the high RPM range.
I don't think so Custer. I only took a look at it through the spark plug hole. It looks to have a deep scoring mark above the exhaust. I don't have time to mess with it now because I've got 3 saws that got to get off my bench, my nephews saw, and works kicking my butt. Worse thing that could happen is I've got another cylinder I guess.
