New closed port OEM assemblies are still available for under $100. The part number you are looking for is 503609171. I snagged one for my 55 from eBay earlier this year.

From the pics those are different than mine. Do you remember if you installed a windowed piston?

I have a closed port 55 cylinder, however, it does have some unsightlyness left over after cleaning up the aluminum transfer. I believe I may have a new windowed piston for it as well, an aftermarket one if memory serves. If you can't find anything else I'll dig out that piston and see how freely it goes down the bore and if it will sink or swim.
