I have a guy that wants me to rebuild his closed port. I knew it would be hard, but I should have looked up the fact that there is absolutley no aftermarket pistons...

anyone have anything to help me out, already have the cylinder so I have myself in a whole already with this one

I have a closed port cylinder here that I took out of a 55 some time ago and marked on it 55 windowed piston. So when I saw that one at HL I ordered it so I would have a good piston for if I needed to use it. Now it sounds like I don't have a piston at all. I'm going to look at this tomorrow.

Buy a regular open port 45mm piston, grind out the lower transfers of the cylinder like the pictures above show. The saw will run just as good. This was a jonsered 590 I did several years ago.

You are correct, and I fixed it. Thank you. Actually a husky 350 45 mm may work too.

It should, Ive used 51 pistons in 350's instead of the 353 pistons so...
You'd want the 353 piston for the same reason though, to avoid the dished 350.
Been playing with a lot of 350's so it's fresh in my mind...

Sure enough, it doesn't fit. I never would have thought that the same size motor would have two different cylinder sizes. So right now I am trying to figure out who's dumber, Husqvarna, or me.
