SELLING Husqvarna 42 and 42sp saws/parts saws

We'll start with the 42. This was a good runner that had a small gas leak at the tank-threads. It was on the ground and had leaked some and an ember ignited the tank, which was almost empty. Burned up all where the leak ran down and then some. The internals should be good. I'll take photos later to confirm this. Has hours on it, but runs strong. I put 30-40 tanks through it as a backup/rainy-day saw. Brake functions, oils good.


Have a 42sp that was sold to me as a runner, but failed to run right. Seller wasn't interested in reimbursing. Upon further inspection I found the clutch-bearing was melded to the drum. Piston has some wear and may or may not be salvageable. Air filter had holes that were epoxied over. Parts can be used to fix up the 42.


Have a 242xp that I got, but it leaks out the tank vent. Pretty decent condition. Got it to start a few years back when I bought it, but never fixed the leak or ran it, so sold as is.

I'd like to get $450shipped to the 48 states. Not really looking for trades right now.

I also have some new, oem tank vents I'll include once I find then. I'll be putting some 266 stuff up for sale later. I have too many running saws at the moment to have projects taking up space. Trying to get my tools and gear organized this week.

I'll still honor the $400/shipped to the 48. I may be heading to the post office tomorrow and am already going to be packaging up saws today.

I would consider partial or full trades on a few things:

-- 543xp parts or powerheads

-- 550/562xpg MKII, maybe just XP full or partial trade on my end depending on condition (would prefer NIB)

-- good condition 16-28" bars for McCulloch PM700 (mid-to-later model.)

-- I would consider 390xp and 395xp parts/saws as well but am less interested in those. Possibly bigger Stihl....?

-- port-job/mods and/or rebuild from one of the well-known porters
