I have a 356 that runs poorly under throttle. Rpms vary with throttle Pulled. Starts easily and idles fine. H screw adjustment doesn't seem to cure anything. Hoping someone knows a secret.
What I've done.

Removed exhaust to see if anything was partially blocked. Nothing out of ordinary.

Replaced
Fuel line
Filter
Spark plug
Carb
Impulse line

I need to check compression psi yet.

You check the piston for scoring while you had the muffler off?

Piston is fine. 122 psi compression. I think I solved it. Seems it likes a full fuel tank. Filter must have been in at a wrong angle and wld occasionally suck some air bubbles. I noticed them coming up fuel line. It must create a void in carb and not pump desired amount of fuel fast enough. We will see how it acts.
