Recently i got a Husky 288xp from my uncle. when in the cut with a 32" bar it pulls fine and cuts like crazy but i get a loud popping noise at WOT in the cut. was wondering if its 4 stroking, or if i'm having another issue i should be concerned about? if i need to get a video i will.

288 carbs have a governor circuit in them that dumps a lot of fuel to keep them from free spooling to high rpms. They will cause a Rwanda aggressive four stroking sound till the saw is loaded and brought down below the rpm where the governor circuit is opening.

Governor
You can plug them off but I've found it
Best leave them be if they operate properly.
