Hi. Seriously considering selling my 288G (pho). I have not found any previously sold ones to help determine value. Any info as to rarity? Rebuilt a few years ago, excellent crank, new skf bearings, meteor piston kit, original Mahle cylinder (I believe) no damage, new aftermarket carb (have original tilitson), generator, heated handle and grips work. It has only had one tank of use since (with 20" bc) and I start it once in a while (90 non-ethanol, husk xp oil). Thank you.

Certainly desirable. Not sure how rare they are, but I've never seen one for sale. I think you would be pretty safe adding $100-150 to what a comparable 288 has sold for.

Extremely rare to me
I've serviced, worked on or cut with dozens of 181/281/288s going back to the 80s and have never seen one.
Rebuild that oem carb don't use high pressure carb or brake cleaner inside of it
and put it back on to get the most money.
Is that a aftermarket air filter?
And do you have the original plastic screen air filter or was it the flock style?

The flock filter is a new Husqvarna. I may have the other type oem.

Take 15 more pictures of it and post one picture per post and you will have your minimum to put the saw up for sale! Or just visit 15 other posts and say "Hi" :D
Or he could honor the spirit of the rule and take the time to make some quality posts and let everyone here get to know him. That’s what’s going to help get something sold on here. Who knows he might even make a few new friends. 15 posts with one picture in them isn’t going to be very reassuring when it comes time for someone to put their hard earned money on the line.

Here's a couple pics of a different nature. Dropped about 40 huge Black Locust at my Mom's. My (ex) son in law had gear and showed me how to climb . Here I am rigging to pull away from power line with the trusty Massey 300.

You’ll fit in just fine around here. Most guys on here are “just” firewood hacks. Nice dozer and black locust is primo firewood.

It was meant to be more of a joke, but I can see how it could come across differently.

I like/hate Black Locust. Great hard wood, but I hate the thorns. Had one that dropped a large branch on the side of my house, unfortunately I was deployed when it happened and my wife had to coordinate getting it taken down. Found someone who would do it for the firewood, but for years afterwards the thing kept trying to sprout back up. They do grow fast, so that is bonus!
