It doesnt work on fuel tank I have for 288. I was told it was for 288 but not sure.

The one that’s mounted is on a 266. The other is an actual OEM one for a 288. Notice the difference. The 266 has a shot radius at the top of the brace. The 288 is basically straight. Without it being in my hands. I’d have to guess the one you have is for a 266. And sorry. The 288 handle is not for sale.I have this one but I think it's for a 181 se

That's what I was thinking so I put it on my 272 and it fits but looks big. Also it's super close on recoil side. The guy I got it from recieved it in a pile of 181se parts.....

I do know that they are not interchangeable between the 266 and 288. If it has the aluminum block? It’s for a 266. Husqvarna changed the configuration of the handle when they came out with the 268/272. It overlaps and has a different block.That's what I was thinking so I put it on my 272 and it fits but looks big. Also it's super close on recoil side. How close is super close? Can you fit your hand in between the two. You can spread the handle and drill a extra hole. Not the best fix though.

It sits nice in the 266. When I first looked it up ,it showed the same configuration as the 272 full wrap.....that's why I was confused.
