I thought the first two numbers were the year. Learned something new today, Thanks. No, the saw is in great condition, going to put her back to all original.Should be the 163rd saw made in the 39th week of 1989 going by that MN/SN tag. One of the last 266XPs made. Wonder where the original 300th anniversary top cover went. You parting out the saw? If so, I'm interested in the cases.
That cool Performance Connection Eliminator top cover will fit the 2-piece ignition saws. 61/66 (except for the very late ones) and 266SE/SG/XP.
Me too.Thats bad-ass, makes me wanna buy a 266.
Still looking for parts, trying to get the shop cleaned out so this winter I'm ready to do my projects.I got a nice 266 this would fit but I'm a little short on saw coin. What else is new.
Oh thank goodness! Buying stuff for saws you don't have yet is a bridge to far.
I'm going to be dumb and ask . What does BTDT mean ?BTDT....

Good to know. Tomorrow I'm headed to one of my best resources and if I get lucky he will have everything I need, I'll have to do some begging and pleading but it should be worth it.Joe Salva is selling reproductions of the 300rh anniversary decals. With that serial #, your 266XP can legitimately wear one. You have an interesting saw. I had only seen one 300th anniversary 266XP before yours (belongs to Fossil IIRC).
Seen many 300th 268XP's (including mine). There appears to be some overlap between the outgoing 266XP and the 'new' 268XP in 1989. Very cool.
From what I've heard they used a lot of the Eliminator's after Mt. Saint Hellen blew, the valcanic ash was so fine that it destroyed the saws, so in your quest for one, a guy might look in around that area.Someone very got a awesome looking Eliminator top cover kit . I wish I could find one this nice for a 281 / 288 saw .
