I should have some of that…will pull out my 2100 box and check
Chain brake stuff is pretty much non-existent. Better to find a 2101 brake assembly as some parts are still made, aftermarket.

I've bought from this seller several times.

Another seller has a handful of tank/handles

Are there differences in tanks other than ones with and without manual oiling?
Yes, I believe there are two different hose connection types and the shape of the nose where the bar mounts can be different. I had to file a slot in the nose so that my felling dog connection could be mounted.

Below are 285 bodies, but similar to the 2100, except missing manual oiler hose out of the nose.

The Yellow arrow shows a lip-less nose, works fine for the 2100 felling dog mount that fits there.

The Red arrow shows a lip on the nose. If you have a 2100 felling dog (2nd image) then you will need to dremel/grind out a slot for it to fit. Doing so did not affect the integrity of the nose.

Also, I believe there are two different styles of hose connections, a push through or crimp ring and a nut.

If you happen to have the part (just broken) it is best to compare it to any images of parts you are intending to buy to make sure you are getting the same thing, or at least know if it is different, what other parts you will need to get it to match your unit.

Chain brake parts and guard
Also, did your saw have a chain brake or are you just missing the entire cover assembly? Many early 2100s didn't have a chain brake and you can just get a cover plate for the clutch side. Definitely going to cost a bunch more to try to chase down chain brake parts.

Not sure. Saw will arrive tomorrow or Wednesday so I was just starting to order parts I wanted to replace or are in need of replacement. I’ll look it over once it arrives and get some more info for the tank/chain brake. Were the 2100’s and 2101 chain brakes different? I was thinking the chain brakes were interchangeable between most cd models.

That I don't know, when I saw a clutch cover without a chainbrake I went with that option. I found my unit at the dump, it was missing quite a bit, been slowly working at getting parts for it. I think I am just down to needing a piston, air filter and bar plates.

Here is what mine looked like when I brought it home....dirt in the cylinder and all...

yes. I'll get some pics up of the two that I have. Early models never had brakes. they became optional later on. they are very hard to find intact and go for $200+ in great condition.

2101 is basically the same hardware as the 266-288
The 2100 parts are extremely rare.

gotcha. This one has the orange cast sticking up proud so definitely looks like the 2101.

Would you happen to have a spare hand guard for the 2101 or the complete cover?

Later 2100s had that I believe. 2101s had that but pretty sure they did not come with manual oilers. Could be wrong. Yours still have the identification plate on?

I only have the one pictured…still restoring it. Needs a little mag welding to the bar mate area, chain guards and a chip guard.
I need to check another box for 2-series brake parts.
I have 2 new bands from the Ireland Co. that still makes them.
I have air shrouds. Will look for a recoil. I do have an NOS one 🤪

I think the cover on this one is in good shape just missing the hand guard and since it’s missing that most likely the clutch band and hardware etc. does have a chip guard on it I believe.

I managed to find a nos recoil just need the guts for it and the inner air shroud

looking for a spare tank in good shape or nos with the manual oiler

And a top air filter cover (small cover)

I think Dukes has the new aftermarket top covers.
Post pics of what you have
